“If you think health and safety is expensive, try an accident”
Stelios Haji-Ioannou – Founder of easyJet
If you have five or more employees then having a Health and Safety Policy is a legal requirement under The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. A health and safety policy sets out your general approach and commitment together with the arrangements you have put in place for managing health and safety in your business. It is a unique document that says who does what, when and how.
Green Hat can help you achieve this by working with you to develop a bespoke health and safety management system that complies with ‘L153 Managing Health and Safety in Construction’ and one that reflects the way your company works. We also help take the burden of completing much of the paperwork away by completing your Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans, Fire Risk Assessments, Traffic Management Plans etc.
The systems we develop range from basic management systems to more complex versions that may require certification to various standards including OHSAS 18001:2007 and the forthcoming ISO 45001.
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR) require an employer to appoint one or more competent people to help them implement the measures they need to take to comply with the legal requirements. Green Hat can supply you with this service by providing guidance, system development, site health and safety inspections, CDM Compliance audits etc.
Green Hat Consulting employs experienced health and safety consultants to provide you with the service that suits your company. To discuss your Health and Safety requirements contact us today.
