Project type – Re-cladding and fire safety upgrades to two HRB’s and one non-HRB student accommodation blocks.
Blocks A & B and the Studio Block will undergo a major upgrade to improve fire safety, façade performance, and durability. Works include installing a new sprinkler system with plant and tanks, replacing selected cladding and feature box framing, and re-rendering sections. Fire protection will be strengthened through cavity barrier installation and upgrades to spandrel panels, including replacing combustible insulation. Additional remedial works will address perimeter steel beams and edge-of-slab details.
The Studio Block will also receive cavity barriers to zinc cladding and stone wall tops, spandrel panel upgrades, and feature framing replacements. These improvements ensure compliance with modern standards, enhance building resilience, and deliver a refreshed, cohesive appearance. The programme is designed to minimise disruption for residents while safeguarding long-term asset value and aligning the development with current safety regulations.
